The
newly formed IVA chapter of Veterinary College, Pookot inaugurated on 11th March 2009 at Seminar Hall, Veterinary
College, Pookot. Dr.A.P.Somasekharan Nair, President, IVA, Kerala inaugurated the chapter. Dr.V.Jayaprakashan, Assoc. Dean
i/c welcomed the gathering. Dr. Radhamma Pillai, President of the new chapter presided over the function.
Dr.T.Sreekumaran
and Dr.T.V.Viswanathan, retired professors from Veterinary College, Pookot were honoured in the function. Dr. K.Anilkumar,
Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Animal Breeding and Genetics who is the recipient of Dr.P.G.Nair endowment award for best teacher
along with Dr. Chintu Ravisankar, Asst. Professor (Microbiology), Dr. Sajitha.I.S, Asst. Professor (Pathology) and Dr. Bipin.K.C,
Asst. Professor (Preventive Medicine) recipients of Dr. N.P.Panicker memorial endowment award for academic excellence also
were honoured in the function. Trophy for the College foot ball team who are the runners up in KAU intercollegiate competitions
was presented in the function. First GOSNI award for best academic performance in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology was
presented to Kum. Remya Vasudevan of 2004 batch.
“Be Better”
a professionalism development training programme was also arranged as a part of inaugural function. Dr. Haroon Abdul Rasheed,
Treasurer of IVA, Kerala and member of KSVC along with Dr. Prasad.A, Asst. Professor, COVAS, Mannuthy and Sri. Anoop, National
Trainer, JCI handled the training.
